Providing a home away from home for families with sick children to Rest, Recover & Renew
TOGETHER
What We Do
The Children's Sunshine Foundation was founded on the premise that LOVE can cure ALL.  We are focused on providing a home away from home for families that have to travel for medical treatment.

Often families find that they cannot afford costly hotels and travel cost when medical bills are rapidly rising.  We provide worry-free accommodations, close to local children's hospital, so families can spend time focused on what's important - healing.  There is no charge to the families and all stays include utilities.
Our properties are independent housing and most allow pets as we understand the healing nature of pets and of course they are part of the family!

Typically our families stay a minimum of 30 days.  We ask families for a donation but no one is turned away if they cannot contribute.
The Charlotte House, a 1920s beauty, sat neglected for almost a decade before it was transformed back to its former stature. This is a 2 bedroom, one bath that can host up to 6 people comfortably.

This home is representative of the major transformation, renewal and healing that can take place with love and attention. The home was rebuilt with love to help families that stay.
Our Families
What our First Family had to say...
That's when we found Children's Sunshine Foundation.  They created such a beautiful "home away from home" for us they completely blew us away by allowing us to stay at this beautiful little haven they created just minutes from the hospital.  Everything was brand new and absolutely perfect!
The people at the Children's Sunshine Foundation not only offered us a home away from home while going through this very difficult time they always offered anything they could do to help us and would check in on us to make sure everything was going well.

How To Stay
To stay with the Children's Sunshine Foundation, families must have a child (up to age 18) receiving medical care at a local children's hospital.

Families must live over 100 miles away from the hospital and a hospital referral is required.

All family members 18 years or older must agree to a criminal background check if they are staying more than 3 nights.

Since we have private housing we are focused on children that need longer term care and dates often fluctuate.  As a result we maintain a waiting list for future families.

We do not charge families anything to stay in our home, but we do kindly suggest that families make a minimum donation of $150 that goes towards the sanitation and cleaning fee to ensure the health and safety of future guests.
